Lincoln Road Mall offers shopping for onlookers

The Lincoln Road Mall, often just called Lincoln Road, is something for onlookers and again – like everywhere else in Miami Beach – it’s all about seeing and being seen. Of course, you can also shop here, and in a mix that will make every wallet rejoice. If you want to bring home a cool T-shirt or a sexy pair of Bermuda shorts, you can find what you’re looking for just as easily as a high-end designer outfit.
On Lincoln Road, the stores with the – let’s say – tourist goods offer inexpensive specialties with which you can even bring that“look, I’ve been there” feeling home with you.
Strolling in the open air on Lincoln Road
The pedestrian zone also differs from the other malls in that you can stroll around in the open air. However, this can open up the sweat glands in summer. But it’s not so bad, as you can quickly return to normal temperature in the air-conditioned stores. As on Ocean Drive, the restaurants offer many happy hours specials, so if you’re lucky you can relax in one of the palm-fringed bars and cafés without spending a fortune.
Architecturally, Morris Lapidus immortalized himself here as the founder of the curvy, neo-baroque Miami Beach style. For example, he designed the Lincoln Theatre, Colony Theatre and Stering Building, which can be discovered on the mall.
Creative people are also offered something artistic: The Art Center, South Florida was founded in the early 1980s by a small group of artists and is now the creative center of over 50 artists’ studios. Antiques and a collectors’ market as well as a farmers’ market complete the picture of this unique mall in typical Miami Beach style.
