Coquina Beach | Spacious & family-friendly

Coquina Beach is a beautiful public beach on Anna Maria Island. It boasts fine white sand, turquoise blue water and shady palm trees, which is not so common in Florida. The expansive beach offers free parking, picnic areas and restrooms. Perfect for families, nature lovers and anyone who wants to enjoy relaxed island flair.

If you drive from Bradenton on the 64 over the bridge onto Anna Maria Island, you will be tempted to turn right and drive towards Bean Point. The northernmost end of the island is also breathtakingly beautiful, but parking spaces are unfortunately in short supply here. Coquina Beach at the southern tip, on the other hand, is hard to beat in terms of size, at least in Florida.

With so many parking spaces available, it’s hard to know where to stop. But it doesn’t matter, there is endless space here. Once you get out of the car, your mouth will drop open at the first sight of the sea. Emerald green, crystal-clear water laps gently onto powdery white sand.

Animal bathers at Coquina Beach

Even a spontaneously appearing manatee can enchant the bathers. Penguins and sand dollars are also abundant under the clouds, which are enchanting. In front of the beach there are all the sanitary facilities you could possibly need. Toilets, showers, changing rooms and plenty of picnic areas with barbecue facilities under old pine trees. Parking is free of charge. There is a small bar on the beach where you can quench your thirst and satisfy your hunger at reasonable prices.

There is also plenty on offer for water sports , including paragliding. This beach leaves nothing to be desired except for the one thing you don’t want to leave.
