Packing list | Everything you need for your Florida vacation

Whether beach, theme park or road trip – in Florida, every day is a little adventure. For optimal preparation and to make sure you don’t miss anything important when you get there, it’s worth taking a look at our packing list at home. From sunscreen to plug adapters: Florido tells you what you need to pack in your suitcase.
After the vacation planning comes the suitcase packing and then it’s finally time: T-shirts, flip-flops, make-up, travel documents such as travel health insurance or e-book readers – nothing should be forgotten when packing your suitcase for your summer vacation to Florida. Our practical packing list or checklist to tick off will help ensure that the anticipation doesn’t get lost in the “I hope I haven’t forgotten anything” stress.
Whether Miami city trip, beach vacation or round trip: With the right clothing, the most important documents and clever accessories such as the zip bag for the kayak trip, you are well prepared for your trip to Florida. And if necessary, leave room for a few shopping bargains from the outlet centers and shopping malls in one city or another.
Your luggage usually consists of a suitcase and hand luggage, which in turn is divided into a small suitcase or skirt bag and personal storage such as a handbag. You can find out what you should pack where below:
Everything you need in your hand luggage
- Passport (valid for at least 6 months)
- ESTA confirmation (printed out)
- Driver’s license (national is sufficient)
- International health insurance (proof)
- Flight and rental car documents
- Hotel / vacation home confirmation
- Vaccination card (if required)
Finance & Technology
- Credit card (Visa/MasterCard) + backup card if necessary
- Cash (~100 to 150 $ for tolls & tips)
- Adapter (USA: type A/B, 110 V)
- Powerbank
Tips: Keep all liquids (max. 100 ml) in a transparent zip bag. This saves stress at the security checkpoint. Warm clothes help with the unfamiliar, sometimes very cold air conditioning.
I’m packing in my suitcase
I don’t just pack anything – I pack systematically and preferably with a packing list. Because in Florida there’s not only plenty of sun, but also mosquitoes, air conditioning and sudden downpours. So that you are prepared for every situation on your summer vacation, which can also be in winter, you can find my personal packing list here.
It helps you to think of everything important and does not claim to be complete. Whether for a day at the beach, sightseeing or a visit to an amusement park: if you have everything you need with you, you can get off to a relaxed start and don’t have to buy the essentials when you get there (with the exception of Deep Woods for the Everglades). Let’s go!
