Barefoot Beach | Which is actually a Turtle Beach

Barefoot Beach
Barefoot Beach near Bonita Springs

Bearfoot Beach is one of the most beautiful natural beaches on Florida’s Gulf Coast and is perhaps even a little insider tip. The beach is known for its tranquil ambience, soft sand and diverse wildlife, including turtles and many bird species. The approach is interesting because of the many luxury villas you drive through.

You don’t necessarily discover it on your first trip, as it is hidden behind an elite residential area of Bonita Springs in the Barefoot Beach State Preserve. At the entrance to the Barefoot Beach State Preserve an entrance fee of 10 USD is charged. This expense is worth it, not least in comparison to the same to higher park costs at Fort Meyers Beach.

Barefoot Beach Park completely empty

To the right and left of the access road to the beach, not only are there signs indicating the presence of turtles, but the animals also show themselves in person. So watch out and drive carefully. The beach is beautiful, the sand is fine and light and the sea is not too shallow, so you don’t have to walk in for ages, but can swim straight away. The number of bathers is limited, sometimes it’s even really empty.

Coming from Bonita Beach, take the first right off Bonita Beach Rd SW. A sign points to Barefoot Beach. Don’t be frightened by the reception building – just drive past. The drive to the beach is a “must see” in itself, as you can marvel at and envy the numerous villas with a castle-like character.
