Haulover Beach is one of the most beautifulnatural beaches in the Greater Miami area. The wide sandy beach is located between Bal Harbour Beach and Sunny Isles Beach and offers plenty of space for sunbathing, swimming, and walking. Haulover Beach is best known for its officially designated nude beach area, which is located in a separate section of the beach.

Here’s what to expect at Haulover Beach

The fine, light-colored sand, the mostly clear water, and the comparatively relaxed atmosphere make Haulover Beach a popular alternative to Miami Beach’s often much more crowded South Beach.

The southern section of the beach is primarily frequented by families, couples, and those seeking relaxation. In the north is one of the most well-known officially designated nude beaches in the United States. The two areas are clearly separated from one another.

Right behind the beach lies the sprawling Haulover Park, featuring green spaces, picnic areas, and a marina. At the famous Haulover Inlet, you can watch kitesurfers and anglers.

Who is Haulover Beach best suited for?

The beach is particularly well-suited for visitors looking for a spacious sandy beach with good amenities. Families will find it just as enjoyable as couples or those seeking peace and quiet. Water sports enthusiasts appreciate its proximity to Haulover Inlet. Nude bathers can use the separately designated section of the beach.

Parking at Haulover Beach

There are several large parking lots right next to Haulover Park, just a short walk from the beach. Parking is metered, and the lots fill up quickly, especially on weekends and holidays. If you want a spot near the beach, you should arrive in the morning if possible. A pedestrian underpass leads directly from the parking lots to the beach.

Our Tip for Haulover Beach

If possible, visit Haulover Beach on a weekday or in the early morning. That way, you’ll have an easier time finding a parking spot and can enjoy the expansive beach in a much quieter atmosphere. If you’re interested in spectacular boats, you should take a walk to Haulover Inlet afterward. Luxury yachts and sport boats regularly pass through there between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay.
